OCD therapy in Paris,
in English or Italian

In person in Paris 16th
or online
English or Italian

I know how convincing OCD can feel.
Your mind keeps asking for certainty, but no answer ever feels final.

Together, we can change your relationship with doubt
so it stops organising your life.

You may know the thought is irrational. It still feels urgent.

Many people living with OCD are analytical, capable and highly self-aware. You may already understand that your fear is unlikely or that checking again will not solve it.

But when doubt appears, it can still feel impossible to leave alone.

You may find yourself:

  • Checking doors, appliances, messages or past decisions

  • Replaying conversations and events in your mind

  • Seeking reassurance or repeatedly confessing

  • Avoiding situations, people or objects that trigger difficult thoughts

  • Trying to reach complete certainty before moving on

  • Feeling ashamed of intrusive thoughts that conflict with your values

The content of OCD varies.

The loop is often remarkably similar:

The compulsion helps for a moment. But that brief relief teaches the mind to demand the same response next time.

A structured way to work with the OCD loop

The aim is not to win every argument with your mind or guarantee that you never experience another unwanted thought.

It is to help you respond with greater flexibility and choice.

In therapy, we can work together to:

Understand your pattern

We identify the thoughts, triggers, behaviours and mental rituals keeping the cycle active—including less visible compulsions such as reviewing, analysing and reassurance seeking.

Make room for uncertainty

Rather than waiting until you feel completely certain or calm, we practise responding in ways that are more workable and connected to what matters to you.

Build a different response

You learn practical skills for noticing intrusive thoughts without automatically treating them as facts, warnings or commands.

Review what is changing

Therapy should not feel directionless. We regularly look at what is shifting, where you remain stuck and what the next useful focus might be.

My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, alongside behavioural, humanistic and relational approaches. ACT focuses on developing psychological flexibility: the ability to experience difficult thoughts and feelings without allowing them to dictate every action.

Practical therapy,
grounded in real experience

I’m Pierpaolo Paparo, a psychotherapist with an MA in Psychotherapy. I work with adults in English and Italian, in person in Paris and online.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in corporate finance. I understand the pressure to stay capable, analytical and productive while something much more exhausting is happening internally.

I also understand OCD from personal experience. I have written openly about growing up with obsessions, compulsions and the fear attached to intrusive thoughts.

That does not mean your experience will be the same as mine, or that therapy becomes about my story. It means I understand how convincing, isolating and time-consuming these patterns can feel from the inside.

My approach is collaborative, direct and practical. We take the problem seriously without treating you as the problem.

These short introductory calls are a chance to talk briefly about what is happening, ask questions, and explore whether this approach feels like the right fit for you.

Many people I work with arrive feeling anxious, stuck, overloaded, or tired of repeating the same patterns.  — it is simply to begin.
