You may understand the pattern.
Changing it can still be hard.

You can know that you are overthinking and still spend hours caught in your thoughts. You can know what matters and still find yourself avoiding it.

In ACT, we work on what happens in those moments, and practise ways to respond with more choice.

Is ACT therapy the approach you’re looking for?

You may have read about ACT, tried some exercises or been encouraged to explore it.

You may recognise yourself in one or more of these patterns:

Caught in your thoughts

Replaying conversations, analysing decisions or trying to think your way out of every difficult feeling.

Driven by pressure

Pushing yourself to keep going while self-criticism, worry or the fear of getting things wrong sets the pace.

Putting life on hold

Waiting to feel calm, confident or certain before having a conversation or taking a step you care about.

Losing touch with what matters

Spending so much energy managing discomfort that relationships, interests or a sense of direction get less space.

We can use the introductory call to explore what you are looking for and whether my approach fits your needs.

How Acceptance and Commitment Therapy works

ACT helps you build psychological flexibility: the ability to notice what is happening inside you and choose a response that serves what matters to you.

Acceptance means making room for thoughts and feelings. It does not mean approving of harm, giving up on change or accepting an unhealthy situation.

Understand what keeps you stuck

We look at the situations, thoughts, feelings and responses that repeat, including strategies that bring short-term relief but create difficulties over time.

Clarify what matters to you

We explore the qualities you want to bring to your relationships, work and everyday life. Your values help give the work direction.

Practise a different response

We explore ways to step back from thoughts, reconnect with the present and make space for difficult feelings, without automatically acting on them.

Take useful steps in daily life

We turn that direction into manageable actions, practise between sessions where useful, and review what is changing. The pace is something we agree together.

We can use the introductory call to explore what you are looking for and whether my approach fits your needs.

Practical therapy,
grounded in real experience

I’m an integrative psychotherapist with an MA in Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School and accreditation with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP).

ACT is central to how I work. I also draw on humanistic and relational approaches, paying attention to your history, relationships and the circumstances you are living in.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in corporate finance. Having lived in Italy, Ireland and France, I also understand something of the pressure and uncertainty that can accompany major changes. Those experiences inform my work; your experience remains the focus.

You can expect a collaborative, thoughtful and practical approach. We make room to understand what is difficult, while keeping sight of what you want to change.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

These short introductory calls are a chance to talk briefly about what is happening, ask questions, and explore whether this approach feels like the right fit for you.

Many people I work with arrive feeling anxious, stuck, overloaded, or tired of repeating the same patterns.  — it is simply to begin.
